NEW YEAR NEW BEGININGS

HAPPY 2011...9 days late :-)
I have been to Florida and back (driving one way) I don't recommend Washington D.C.at 5:15 pm in an ice storm !  Spent a wonderful time with my mom in Florida and got to see my oldest son and twin grandsons for Christmas in Westchester...so I ended the year beautifully!

Now to the New Year and an implusive new adventure...I am already in a brick and mortar store in Little Falls NY...and am today in the snow and 14 degree weather  :-(  about to finish emptying the van I brought back from Florida...only to reload it with all the vintage furniture I have been busy painting to set up in a group shop an hour away from me but closer to Albany 15 mins   (civilization...where there are more buyers...I hope) The Black Sheep Antique Center in Duanesburg N.Y.

I love the center ...I am not crazy about the fact I will be upstairs and will have to go all around the inside of the store to get to the staircase to bring all my stuff to display in my booth.  So right now I am procrastinating and dreading the glamourous life of an antique dealer...wishing it would snow a little harder so I have an excuse not to do this today...

For the past 2 weeks I have been painting and leaving it in my living room (I have a fireplace there so I get to keep warm as I work) I havent seen my couch or bay window in as long and really cant wait to get my home back...My garden spa tub in the downstairs bathroom is filled with empty boxes my dining room tables are filled with smalls (yes I said tables one to be painted and well one is mine my dr is huge)...my sons room may now be the cleanest room in the house lol! You have no idea!

I will do before and after pics of my booth but only have cramped pictures of the items in the living room
but It wouldnt be my blog without a ton of pictures so I will post and then hopefully post the booth pictures some time later this week...because it will be done I will unload and load and unload and navigate and decorate and price  and survive...because as a shopaholic this is what we do to justify our addiction...

Here are some pictures they wont be the prettiest on my blog but heres the idea very vintage pastelle (my first website)

great shadow boxes

Robins egg blues pinks greens and creams I even wallpapered hangers and hatstands so I have altered almost everything...there is a cottage original paint group too and I havent gone thru the house yet for the smalls and accents and barkcloth etc etc but I think it all looks good together or has potential too...and the store is on the way to Brimfield (which seems so far away in the future)...
The snow is letting up I have to face the task at hand one more cup of coffee... maybe a phone call... a glance on etsy.... another cup of coffee......................Hope you enjoy your day!!!!

Regrouping after Brimfield

Is it my age...or the first show of the season...I just can't seem to get it together after a 10 day Brimfield Antique Show. It was a great success the only draw back was the wind up to 45 miles ph at times and it lasted most of the week.  I promised pictures but didnt take but a few here is one from behind me on a line on Friday waiting to get into J&J's showt the last big show to open for the week....

This was on Friday I arrived on Mothers Day (the Sunday before)...with a 14' rental truck and my son drove the '86 station wagon and I only went home with the station wagon!!!
Although I sold alot it seems to be all over my house and has not found a place to call home...I wanted to have a huge garage sale like last year in my new (old) home for the Memorial Day weekend but I just don't know if I can get my act together. I should know by the end of today how much I can get accomplished .
Here are a few pics of my booths (I had 2 tents this time)
I did excellent on my vintage clothing and lingerie and did well on the painted furniture I did get to keep the dining room table (now is my kitchen table and I love it!)

Notice the gorgeous chintz curtains 4 panels in pink and 4 panels in blue I purchased them at the show and they are now hanging in my living room and my office!!

and this is now my kitchen table...which works out well as I have the buffet too in my dining room (not yet painted).
Funny how my decisions get made sometimes and it was meant for me I just didnt know it!
All in all it was a long and exhausting but profitable week and oh I met so many ETSY sellers!!!
I was thrilled!
OK time to regroup ...sort... reorganize ...

Etsy Front Page !!!

I missed it :-( I finally made it to Etsy front Page last night while I was still packing for Brimfield...raining windy and evidently the truck I rented has a leak in it and the windshield wipers to the station wagon that my son will drive for me don't work and I have a leak in my living room bow window so now it's raining inside too :-(
but I made it to FRONT PAGE

I found the front page treasury on craftcult a great tool for etsy!

So exciting for me and although no sales generated
I received an email from Italy wanting to know the cost to ship :-(
and it generated more people who heart my store and 80 hearts on the item!
Thank you Michaelann from Vintage Frocks Of Fancy and Natalie from Fun Retro for emailing me last night to let me know!
Back to packing !
This should be my best show ever I am taking my best shabby chic and cottage painted furniture my best barkcloth, my best vintage clothing and will take tons of pics!  Rain Rain Go Away!!!
If you are around please come and see me special discount for etsy members!!!
